It was an incredible honour to capture the wedding of former South African Sevens Rugby captain Siviwe Soyizwapi and his gorgeous wife, Zenande, in the heart of Maclear, Eastern Cape. Known worldwide as the dynamic leader of the Blitzboks, Siviwe has carried South Africa’s flag proudly on rugby’s biggest stages — from the Olympics to the World Sevens Series. Yet on this day, his greatest victory was found not on the field, but in the celebration of love and tradition. Their wedding was a vibrant and deeply meaningful traditional Xhosa ceremony, where community, culture, and heritage came together in unforgettable harmony. The day was filled with colourful attire, music, and heartfelt rituals, as family and friends gathered to honour their union. Zenande looked radiant in her traditional regalia, while Siviwe’s pride and joy shone through every moment — a reflection of the same passion and resilience he shows as a captain on the rugby field. Capturing their story was not only a privilege but a reminder of how South African traditions and global achievements can meet in one extraordinary celebration. Their wedding embodied the strength of heritage, the beauty of love, and the joy of community — a day as timeless as the mountains surrounding Maclear.
